Solvang Farmers' Market in August
August is both a month of wonderful bounty and wild urgency. There is so much juicy fruit, vibrant vegetables, and chlorophyll-rich leaves, but so little time to eat it all, let alone to soak it in.
The Solvang Farmer’s Market is hosted weekly on Wednesday from 2:30-6:30p within the main Danish area, rain or shine. It was a comfortable 80 degrees on this particular Wednesday and the stands were bursting with produce. I got some bell peppers (heirloom bell peppers I guess) unlike any other, tomatoes, raspberries, and a bottle of organic extra virgin olive oil. The olive oil was exceptional and grown just a couple miles away, right off the scenic highway 1 and nestled between two idyllic beaches: Refugio and El Capitan State Beach.
